Looking for the perfect statement necklace, but don’t have the cash flow to shell out for the expensive pieces? There is inspiration all around, you just have to look for it. Case in point: This leather tassel necklace at Fab.com.

DIY Tassel Necklace
The ingredients you’ll need to pull this off?

Cording that you love: check thrift store purses and belts, or a fabric store.
Tassels that you fancy: check thrift store drapery items, belts, and purse straps.
A bit of chain for some edge: check thrift stores or your local craft store.
And some basic jewelry tools (in a pear tree): you’ll need wire cutters and possible a pair of pliers.

I’d love to hear about it if you decide to take on this project  – it looks like a great way to amp up just about anything, from a t-shirt to cashmere.
